Thank you for joining us for fund raising and fun in the sun at the Roger Scott Dog Park on Sunday May 22nd! The PMVC crew washed dogs for donations to benefit the Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund. It was a busy day at the park and we were pushed out early by the swimming pool crowd, but we still managed to get over $200 worth of donations which Dr. Coy and Stafford generously matched! West Alabama Chamber Foundation establishes a Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund The deadly tornado that struck the Tuscaloosa, AL community on April 27, 2011, has left a massive path of destruction. The death toll in our community currently stands at 37 and is expected to increase as search and rescue efforts continue. Hundreds of residences and businesses have been completely destroyed or seriously damaged. Citizens and volunteers continue to comfort families who have lost loved ones and to search through the rubble. Recovery efforts will extend over many long months, and financial assistance is desperately needed in the Tuscaloosa community to support these efforts and to provide for basic human services. A disaster relief fund has been established by the West Alabama Chamber Foundation, Inc., a 501c(3) organization.
